Nashville on The Rock

The first annual Nashville on The Rock was an unforgettable celebration of music, community, and the magic of Elbow Cay. From the oceanfront stage to the beach below, The Island Retreat was alive with joy, rhythm, sunshine, and purpose.

We are beyond grateful to the incredible artists who brought their heart and talent to our stage. We were honored to have Anthony Smith, a legendary Nashville hitmaker and award-winning songwriter; multi-platinum, award-winning songwriter Maria Christensen; the magnetic, rising folk-country artist Zandi Holup; and the immensely talented JC Andersen, Country and Christian singer-songwriter and NIMA Best Male Solo Artist.

Thank you to all who attended, supported, and danced in the sand. Proceeds from Nashville on The Rock support the Hope Town Primary School Music Program, which helps restore music education and access to instruments for their students. Together, we raised awareness and support for future Abaco musicians.

Hurricane Dorian, which struck Elbow Cay and the greater Abacos September 1 – 3, 2019, was the most powerful hurricane on record in Bahamian history. It made landfall as a Category 5 storm with sustained winds of 185 mph, causing catastrophic damage – over $3.4 billion in losses, leaving at least 74 people dead (with hundreds more missing), and displacing more than 70,000 residents, many of them children.

Recovery in the years since has been slow and challenging, hampered by massive infrastructure damage, psychological trauma, and the added stress of the global COVID-19 pandemic.

The Music Program at Hope Town Primary School has responded by helping to reintroduce music into the lives of young islanders through the donation of instruments and the purchase of new ones, mentorship programs, and community workshops, thereby nourishing emotional recovery and cultural rebuilding.

By supporting Hope Town Primary through Nashville on the Rock, you are contributing to a vital journey: bringing hope, resilience, and creativity back to the children who call the Abacos home.
